There are 3 ways to move up to the pro league: assignments, drafts, and offers.
Assignments:
Detailed in the prior posting of Policy Changes as of 9/23/09.
Drafts:
A person is drafted if an offer has been turned down and there are no other offers outstanding. If you are drafted, you have the choice to decline the position. If you refuse the position, you might not get a chance for the rest of the season. It's your call. If you're drafted and you take the position, you will be allowed 3 challenges for the starting spot. To challenge, you must have a better record than the starter up to that point and outperform the starter during the next two week period by 7 percentage points. Draftees can be released from their contract if none of their picks have been used for more than 1 week. Play me or trade me applies here.
Offers:
Offers are generated from the Commissioner's office and are extended to the top performers. They can be extended to one person or several people. In general, the offer expires on a Wednesday night at 11:59pm. If you accept an offer, you will be allowed 3 challenges for the starting spot. To challenge, you must have a better record than the starter up to that point and outperform the starter during the next two week period by 4 percentage points.
The percentage point requirement for challenges is subject to change.
